Delivering Comprehensive, Reliable Recruitment Solutions

Your CV

Your CV is essentially a sales document which tells a potential employer why you are the best candidate to employ.

Remember, first impressions count and you only get one chance to make them, so make sure your CV is up to scratch.

The person reading your CV only has only a limited amount of time to consider your application, so you need to highlight your skills and achievements and make your CV stand out.

Your CV should ideally be tailored to the specific vacancy for which you are applying.

Your CV should be presented in a clear and concise manner, keep it to a maximum of 3 pages (preferably 2). Avoid fancy fonts,
(use times new roman or arial). Avoid the use of any colours, graphics or pictures. Your CV should be written in black text on white paper.

Your CV should include the following components:

Your Personal Information
Personal Statement
Work Experience
Education
Skills
Hobbies & Interests
References

The personal information section should include your full name, contact details, nationality & driving licence details.

The work experience section should be written in reverse chronological order (most recent first) and should include each job title, company names and dates of each employment.

Keep it organised, logical and professional. Don't use too much jargon, do use bullet points and short sentences, don't write in the 3rd person and remember to update your CV on a regular basis.

When your CV is finished, make sure that you check all spelling and grammar and correct any mistakes.
